Gjergj Vinjahu is a renowned expert in the field of archaeology and cultural tourism. He has pursued undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the prestigious universities of Bologna and Pisa, where he has received in-depth education in the fields of heritage assessment and archaeology. After graduation, he has developed a successful career, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Albania’s cultural heritage.

 

Mr. Vinjahu has headed the Rescue Archaeology sector at the Archaeological Service Agency, where he played a key role in protecting the country’s archaeological assets. He has also been the coordinator for archaeology and cultural heritage during the construction of the TAP gas pipeline, a major international project, ensuring that the works respected heritage conservation standards.

 

Gjergj Vinjahu has also held the position of Deputy Director for Cultural Heritage at the Foundation for the Management of Butrint, one of the most important archaeological and cultural sites in Albania. He has contributed to the sustainable management and development of this world heritage gem.
