Silvana Nini is a prominent creator and professional in the field of visual arts and cultural heritage. She graduated from the Academy of Arts of Tirana, in the Painting department, with a specialization in textiles. After graduation, Silvana combined her passion for art with her commitment as a methodologist of the Art subject, contributing to the education and formation of new generations.

 

Since 1999, Silvana has been a collaborator at the Institute for the Development of Education, now ASCAP, where she has played a key role in the design of curricula, programs and books for the subject “Visual Arts” in the pre-university school system. This contribution has had a great impact on the development of art education in Albania.

 

Silvana completed her doctoral studies in the field of Cultural Heritage and Ethnography, deepening her knowledge in the preservation and promotion of cultural assets. Since 2020, she has been part of the research staff at the Center for Studies and Publications for Arbëresh (QSPA), where she has held the position of Director of the Directorate of Studies and Publications for a period. Currently, she works as a research scientist in the field of arts and crafts at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology at the Academy of Sciences.

 

In addition to her research commitments, Dr. Silvana Nini is a part-time lecturer at the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage at the Faculty of History-Philology at the University of Tirana and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Arts.

 

One of Silvana's most important contributions is her role as a scientific consultant in the working group for the preparation of the dossier for "Xhubletë, knowledge-making and forms of use," which was nominated to UNESCO's Urgent Safeguarding List or the Representative List in 2020-2021 and accepted in 2022.

 

With a tireless commitment and an extraordinary dedication to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, Dr. Silvana Nini is a leading and inspiring figure in the field of arts and scientific research.
