Day-by-day itinerary
Pick-up at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Morning in Durrës, Albania's largest port: the amphitheatre and the history museum. Continue to Kruja, 600 metres up the mountainside and birthplace of Skanderbeg: the Old Bazaar with silver filigree, folk costumes, woven rugs and felt hats, Kruja Castle and the Skanderbeg Museum. Lunch at a traditional restaurant and return to Tirana.
Travel to Apollonia, 12 km from Fier: the Odeon, the Byzantine church in the monastery courtyard, the city walls and the Bouleuterion. Continue to the Monastery of Ardenica, with free time for coffee and shopping.
Walking tour of Tirana: Skanderbeg Square, the Clock Tower, the Et'hem Bey Mosque with its nature frescoes, the National Library and the National History Museum, with an optional visit to the National Gallery of Arts. Free time for shopping before the airport transfer.
