Day-by-day itinerary
Arrival at Tirana airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon visit to the National History Museum; the rest of the day is free. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.
Drive to Durrës, one of the oldest Roman cities in the Mediterranean: the Roman amphitheatre and the Archaeological Museum. After lunch, continue to Berat and its 2,400-year-old castle: the Onufri Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, the Bachelors' Mosque and the King's Mosque.
Drive to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO town: the Ethnographic Museum, a stroll through streets of original wood and stone houses, and the castle with its panoramic views. Dinner and overnight in Gjirokastra.
Drive to Kruja, home of the national hero Skanderbeg: his castle, the Skanderbeg Museum and the Old Bazaar with local crafts. Overnight in Kruja.
Drive to Shkodra, a city with more than 2,000 years of history: its Venetian traces, the historic centre and Rozafa Castle. Dinner and overnight in Shkodra.
Drive to Prizren in Kosovo, known for its crafts, cobbled streets and Ottoman architecture. Visit the 14th-century Church of Our Lady of Ljeviš. Overnight in Prizren.
Visit Deçan Monastery, a UNESCO site famous for its frescoes, and the 13th-century Patriarchate of Peja. Continue to Gjakova to explore the old bazaar (Çarshia), the Hadum Mosque and other historic sites. Overnight in Gjakova.
Early drive to Fierza and a two-hour ferry ride from Fierza to Koman through the steep mountains and clear waters of Lake Komani. Drive back to Tirana. End of the tour.
